IDF Strikes Hezbollah Site in Lebanon, Citing ‘Blatant Violation’ of Truce

Israeli fighter jets conducted an airstrike on a Hezbollah facility in the Beaufort Castle area of southern Lebanon on Saturday, targeting what the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) described as an underground site utilized for fire and defense management operations.

According to the Times of Israel, the IDF asserted that Hezbollah was attempting to restore the site following previous Israeli strikes, necessitating the latest aerial assault.

Israel has condemned Hezbollah’s actions, characterizing them as a ‘blatant violation’ of existing understandings between the two countries. The strike signals a potential escalation in tensions despite recent efforts to maintain a fragile calm in the region.
