In a move aimed at bolstering the operational efficiency of the Nigeria Police Force, the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has approved the immediate redeployment of Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) Olatunji Rilwan Disu.
AIG Disu has been appointed to lead the prestigious Force Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Annex in Alagbon, Lagos.
The directive issued on Monday, February 2, 2026, takes effect immediately. According to a statement from the Force Headquarters, the posting is part of a broader strategy by IGP Egbetokun to strengthen leadership across key departments and optimize the force’s response to internal security challenges.
Before this latest assignment, AIG Disu headed the Special Fraud Unit (SFU). During his tenure at the SFU, he was instrumental in spearheading high-stakes investigations into complex economic and financial crimes, further cementing his reputation as a meticulous investigator.
AIG Disu’s career is marked by several high-profile leadership roles. His previous assignments include Commissioner of Police: FCT Command, Abuja, Commissioner of Police: Rivers State Command, Commander, Rapid Response Squad (RRS), Lagos (Prior to his CP rank).
Disu was elevated to the rank of Assistant Inspector-General of Police on March 25, 2025. His promotion was a recognition of his consistent dedication to modernizing policing and enhancing public safety across Nigeria.
The Force CID Annex, Alagbon, is one of the most vital investigative arms of the Nigeria Police. With Disu’s extensive background in both tactical operations and white-collar crime investigation, stakeholders expect a renewed vigor in the prosecution of major criminal cases in the Lagos axis.
