In a truly unique and heartfelt tribute to one of its most dedicated supporters, Valencia CF has immortalized the spirit of lifelong fandom by erecting a statue of former season ticket holder Vicente Navarro Aparicio inside the historic Mestalla Stadium.

Vicente Navarro Aparicio, who passed away in 2016 at the age of 88, was legendary among Valencia fans for his unwavering loyalty. A member since 1941, he was member number 18 at the time of his death and attended every home game without fail for decades.
His commitment became a powerful symbol of the “Valencianista” spirit after he lost his sight at the age of 54 due to a detached retina. Though he could no longer see the action on the pitch, Vicente never stopped coming to the stadium. For years, his son would narrate every play, allowing him to experience the atmosphere and celebrate with the crowd as if he were watching. The club’s legendary 2004 Doublete season (winning the league and the UEFA Cup) was noted as one of the happiest times of his life.
The bronze sculpture, placed in the club’s centenary year (2019), now sits permanently in his accustomed spot: seat 164, row 15, in the Central Stand. The statue depicts a seated figure in a Valencia jersey, forever present and cheering on the team.
While the sculpture honors Vicente’s moving personal story, Valencia CF stated that it also serves as a universal tribute to all supporters whose “Eternal Sentiment” and unconditional love have brought the club to its 104 years of life.
The sculpture is considered unique in elite football, ensuring that Vicente Navarro Aparicio—and the countless loyal fans he represents—will always be there, sharing the joy and enduring the pain with their beloved club at the Mestalla.
