PSV Eindhoven has officially secured its 27th Eredivisie title, marking a historic “three-peat” and cementing their dominance in Dutch football. The championship was confirmed on Easter Sunday, not on the pitch, but via the television screen as rivals Feyenoord stumbled to a 0-0 draw against Volendam.

The result leaves PSV with a commanding 17-point lead over second-placed Feyenoord. With only 15 points left to play for in the campaign, the title race is mathematically over with five matches still remaining.

Under the leadership of Peter Bosz, the “Red and Whites” have authored one of the most dominant campaigns in the history of the league.

By clinching the title with five games to spare, PSV broke the Eredivisie record for the earliest title win, a milestone that had stood since 1978.

The squad set a new league record for consecutive away victories, tallying 14 wins on the road. The path to glory was paved on Saturday, April 4, with a thrilling 4-3 victory over Utrecht. The match was decided by a late strike from 20-year-old winger Couhaib Driouech, setting the stage for Feyenoord’s slip-up the following day.

While Peter Bosz’s tactical setup has been praised, several key figures stood out in the championship charge.

Even as the celebrations begin in Eindhoven, the squad faces potential changes. Reports indicate that striker Ricardo Pepi is already set for a move to the Premier League next season, having reached an agreement with Fulham.

For now, however, the focus remains on the trophy. PSV’s 27th title reinforces their current era of supremacy, leaving the rest of the Eredivisie searching for answers as the champions continue to rewrite the record books.
