Former Abia State Governor and current Senator representing Abia North, Orji Uzor Kalu, has voiced profound grief over the death of the Emir of Gusau, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Dr. Ibrahim Bello. Senator Kalu described the late monarch as a patriotic leader and a symbol of unity, emphasizing his crucial role in fostering peace and stability within Zamfara State and across Nigeria.

He recalled that Dr. Bello had bestowed upon him the traditional title of Jarumin Gusau (Warrior of Gusau) in June, acknowledging Kalu’s contributions to national unity and development.
Kalu lamented the late Emir’s passing as a monumental loss, not only for the people of Zamfara but for the entire nation. He lauded the late monarch’s wise counsel, humility and exemplary leadership style, noting how these qualities resonated with people from diverse backgrounds.
“I am deeply saddened by the passing His Royal Highness, Dr. Ibrahim Bello, the Emir of Gusau. He was a peaceful, visionary, and accommodating monarch who always placed the interest of his people above personal interest. Nigeria has lost a bridge-builder,” Senator Kalu stated.
He extended his heartfelt condolences to the government and people of Zamfara State, the Gusau Emirate Council, and the family of the departed royal father. Kalu urged them to find solace in the enduring legacies of service and humility left behind by Dr. Bello.
