Team Nigeria dominates Girls’ U18 200m at the African Junior Championships in Abeokuta

Team Nigeria has showcased a dominant performance in the Girls’ 200m Under-18 category at the African Junior Athletics Championships in Abeokuta, securing an unprecedented clean sweep of the gold, silver and bronze medals.

Leading the charge was Miracle Eluebube Ezechukwu, who stormed to a massive personal best of 23.87 seconds to clinch the gold medal for Nigeria. This remarkable victory marks Ezechukwu’s third gold of the Championships, following her earlier triumphs in the 100m sprint and the medley relay events.

The Nigerian dominance continued as Chigozie Rosemary Nwankwo secured the silver medal, while Perezide Precious Princeeill completed the spectacular 1-2-3 finish by grabbing the bronze.

The clean sweep highlights Nigeria’s strong talent pipeline in youth athletics and signals a promising future for the nation in track and field. The impressive display has been a major highlight of the ongoing #Abeokuta2025 championships.
