UEE Akamkpa Moves to Strengthen Strategic Partnership with TCTI Biase

g initiative, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Education and Entrepreneurship, Akamkpa, Prof. Patrick Asuquo, has opened high-level collaboration talks with the Teachers Continuous Training Institute, Biase (TCTI). The proposed partnership seeks to advance research, professional workforce development, infrastructure expansion, ICT innovation, and sustainable funding streams.

During a courtesy visit to the Institute’s Director-General, Prof. Asuquo called for a decisive shift in Nigeria’s educational philosophy, to one that prioritizes practical skills, entrepreneurship, and innovation over excessive theoretical formalism. He stressed that the future belongs to graduates who can create value, solve real-world problems, and compete globally.

The Vice Chancellor affirmed the University’s readiness to build a purposeful alliance with TCTI in research collaboration, capacity building, and joint resource mobilization to accelerate the growth of the young institution.

Welcoming the delegation, the Director-General, Prof. Taoheed Adedoja, revealed that the Institute has trained over 5,000 teachers across Cross River State within the last five years. He highlighted TCTI’s expanding footprint in research and ICT training, expressing enthusiasm for a dynamic partnership with UEE and commending the University’s visionary leadership.

Prof. Asuquo lauded the transformational strides recorded under Prof. Adedoja’s stewardship, noting that the University’s Consultancy Unit stands poised to work closely with the Institute in attracting grants and strategic funding opportunities.

Accompanying the Vice Chancellor were the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration), Associate Professor Benedict Ugbong; the Bursar, Dr. Eyo Ekpe; the Director of Consultancy, Dr. Theresa Larry Bissong; and the University Registrar, Amb. Dr. Gabriel Egbe.

Highpoint of the visit was a guided tour of the Institute’s facilities by the delegation and a communique outlining the strategic collaboration initiatives.

The visit signals a promising chapter in UEE Akamkpa’s journey toward educational excellence, anchored on collaboration, innovation, and sustainable impact.
