The Managing Director of the South-South Development Commission (SSDC), Ms. Usoro Akpabio, led a high-profile delegation to the grand finale of the 34th Ikorodu Oga Festival in Lagos on Saturday, November 15, 2025.



Her presence, representing the South-South region, was met with warm applause from high-ranking dignitaries and traditional leaders.
Ms. Akpabio, who was one of the most notable female figures at the event, was accompanied by SSDC board members, Alhaji Yusuf Rasaq and Honorable Bukola Braimoh.
The ceremony was a vibrant celebration of Ikorodu’s rich heritage and served as a platform to honor leading public officials. The highlight of the finale was the conferment of prestigious traditional titles on top national figures such as Rt. Honorable Tajudeen Abbas (Speaker of the House of Representatives), Senator Abdul’Aziz Yari (Former Governor of Zamfara State), Mr. Ogunjimi Shamseldeen (Accountant-General of the Federation).
The event successfully blended cultural displays with the recognition of national leadership, underscoring the festival’s significance beyond the local community.
