MEDA Hosts StrideVest Limited to Explore Investment Opportunities for MSMEs

The management of the Cross River State Microfinance and Enterprise Development Agency (MEDA) welcomed representatives from StrideVest Limited for a courtesy visit today, marking a significant step in the pursuit of investment opportunities for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) within the state. This meeting opened doors for expansion prospects for small businesses, which are vital to the local economy.

Led by Wilson Obidi, Chief Executive Officer and Founder of StrideVest, the team recognized MEDA’s efforts in providing essential support for MSMEs. Obidi expressed StrideVest’s interest in partnering with MEDA to bridge funding gaps for viable businesses while also offering mentorship to ensure their success.

Great Ogban, Director-General and Chief Executive Officer of MEDA, emphasized the Agency’s commitment to attracting investments alongside implementing funding initiatives. He noted that collaboration between MEDA and StrideVest would lend additional credibility to beneficiaries as they embark on their business journeys in the coming weeks.

Enwongo-Abasi Okon, General Manager of Capacity Building and Enterprise Development, highlighted that this partnership would introduce greater variety and flexibility in support for beneficiaries, catering to their unique needs. Nissi Ibiang, Coordinator of the Women in Neighborhood Empowerment and Entrepreneurship Development (WO-NEED) initiative, elaborated on WO-NEED’s mission to empower women-owned businesses as a means of driving economic growth.

StrideVest Limited is a business development and investment firm dedicated to supporting startups and existing businesses through funding, mentorship, and strategic partnerships in exchange for equity. With a capital base of Two Hundred, StrideVest recently launched the Sharp Sharp Money initiative, aimed at assisting nano businesses in the Calabar metropolis.

The StrideVest delegation also included Kingsley Ebia, Communications and Media Officer; Samuel Okon, Chief Operations Officer; and Samuel Usemin, Chief Financial Officer.
