A Nigerian woman’s story of an incredibly generous landlord has gone viral, sparking widespread disbelief and admiration. The lady, identified as Ajango Cynthia, shared her experience in a TikTok video, revealing that her landlord gifted her and other tenants N2 million each after they completed their one-year stay in his apartment.
In the viral clip posted by @peoplequicktalk, Cynthia explained that she lived in the self-contained apartment during her National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) year. Despite paying a rent of N550,000, she was shocked when, at the end of her service year, the landlord gave each of his tenants a sum of N2 million as a parting gift.
“I made my first million from my landlord,” she stated in the video. “I feel like I didn’t get to appreciate him enough because there is basically nobody that will do what he did for us in Nigeria right now.”
While many online users expressed skepticism, Cynthia insisted that her landlord was a genuinely kind man who also extended the same generosity to other tenants. She called on other property owners to “emulate him and show kindness and show love and generosity towards their tenants.”
The story has since been shared widely, highlighting an act of kindness that stands out in a society where such gestures are considered rare.
