US War Secretary Confirms Military Preparations Over Christian Killings in Nigeria

The United States has issued a severe warning to the Nigerian government, threatening to cut all aid and potentially launch a military intervention if the “killing of innocent Christians” in the country is not stopped.

US President Donald Trump escalated the diplomatic pressure on Saturday, using his Truth Social platform to denounce the Nigerian government for allegedly “turning a blind eye” to attacks on Christians.

President Trump stated the U.S. “will immediately stop all aid and assistance to Nigeria” if the violence persists.

He further threatened that the U.S. “may very well go into that now disgraced country, ‘guns-a-blazing’, to completely wipe out the Islamic terrorists who are committing these horrible atrocities.”

The President confirmed he is “hereby instructing our Department of War to prepare for possible action.”

Describing the potential military response, Trump warned, “If we attack, it will be fast, vicious, and sweet, just like the terrorist thugs attack our cherished Christians. Warning: the Nigerian government better move fast”.

US Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth, confirmed the department is preparing for potential military action.

Responding directly to President Trump’s social media post, Secretary Hegseth affirmed the readiness of the department for an intervention should the Nigerian government fail to curb the violence.

The move marks a significant escalation in U.S. rhetoric regarding the security situation and religious freedom in the West African nation. The Nigerian government has yet to issue an official response to the latest threats.
