In a significant step towards enhancing development through information and technology, the Cross River State Government is set to collaborate with the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA). This partnership was announced during a recent briefing.
Great Ogban, the Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the Cross River State Microfinance and Enterprise Development Agency (CRSMEDA), visited NITDA to discuss strengthening this vital collaboration.
Ogban commended NITDA for its pivotal role in national technology development and highlighted CRSMEDA’s notable achievements in the sector. These include the launch of the Cross River State Information, Communication, and Technology Hub (CRS-ICT), which has become a vital space for tech entrepreneurs, as well as the ongoing Civil Service Technology Empowerment for Capacity and High Performance (CIVTECH) program, designed to equip civil servants with essential ICT skills.
He stressed that the Governor is dedicated to reviving the State as the premier Tech Hub in the region, following the setbacks experienced with our innovation centers in Tinapa. He concluded by hinting on the State Government’s readiness to engage in this partnership.
In response, Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, CCIE, the Director General and Chief Executive Officer of NITDA, welcomed Ogban’s visit, noting its timely relevance. He took this opportunity to outline NITDA’s ongoing initiatives aimed at making tech


nology more accessible to the public.
Kashifu reaffirmed NITDA’s commitment to collaborating with agencies like CRSMEDA to foster information and technology development across the state.
