The Cross River State Teachers Continuous Training Institute (TCTI) in Biase, is set for a significant developmental partnership with the Biase Local Government Administration. This collaboration aims to leverage the strengths of both institutions for the developmental advancement of the people, focusing on several priority areas.

The partnership was unveiled after a courtesy visit by the Director-General of the Institute, Professor Taoheed Adedoja, to the Council Chairman, Honorable Edison Edodi and members of his administration at the Chairman’s office in Akpet Central.
After the interaction, Professor Adedoja disclosed that the collaboration was agreed upon in principle, with implementation expected to commence after the paperwork is finalized through an MOU later in future.
The alliance will focus on boosting vital sectors such as agriculture, health, human capital development, internally Generated Revenue (IGR), education, enhancing practical skills and IT exposure.
A core component of the agreement involves leveraging the TCTI’s facilities. This includes enhancing students’ exposure to information technology to advance sector-related knowledge.
Professor Adedoja, a former Minister of Sports and Special Duties, hinted at a dedicated initiative in agriculture. The LGA will assign a specific farming space where high school students of the TCTI Demonstration Secondary School can conduct practical farming sessions.
“We want to catch them young and train them on how to be useful to themselves in future, because it is an attitude that translates to skills acquisition for the future,” the TCTI boss emphasized, stressing the importance of a deliberate, hands-on practical experience in food production and futuristic mechanization farming.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the smooth execution between both parties is slated for 2026. Both the Biase Local Government Administration and the TCTI have agreed to establish a dedicated committee which will be responsible for fine-tuning the collaboration document and all necessary paperwork ahead of the implementation.
