Tinubu Touts Abuja Transformation, Urges Acknowledgment of Work Done

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, speaking through Senate President Godswill Akpabio at the commissioning of the ultra-modern Kugbo Bus Terminal today, Thursday, June 26, 2025, asserted that even critics must concede to his administration’s developmental strides in Abuja.

“Even if you don’t like me, if you’re honest, you must admit the work I’m doing. Come to Abuja and see for yourself – the facts are on the ground,” President Tinubu stated via his representative during the 11th day of the FCT’s 16-day project commissioning series.

The Kugbo Bus Terminal, hailed as another milestone in the Tinubu administration’s “aggressive urban transformation agenda,” was the highlight of the day’s event. The President commended FCT Minister, Barrister Nyesom Wike, for his “commitment, execution, and results.”

“Wike is ‘Mr. Project’ for a reason. Seventeen days of back-to-back commissioning is no joke,” President Tinubu remarked, adding that this demonstrates “full budget implementation from appropriation to execution,” and thanked the National Assembly for their support. He reiterated his administration’s “non-negotiable” commitment to infrastructure, good governance, and transparent delivery.

In response, FCT Minister Nyesom Wike praised the President’s “unwavering support,” acknowledging the personal political costs it has incurred. “Even if your support brings me 20 million enemies, I will accept it. Keep supporting me, Mr. President. You have changed the narrative of Abuja,” Wike declared.

The Minister then challenged previous administrations to claim credit for any of the 17 projects being commissioned, asserting, “Of the 17 projects we lined up for commissioning, let anyone come out and say we’re claiming what we didn’t build. I challenge anybody!”

Wike underscored that the government’s focus is on making “all Nigerians happy – rich and poor alike,” calling it “the hallmark of true leadership.” He also highlighted the significant demand for the newly completed Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre, which is reportedly fully booked until 2027, attributing its popularity to “quality delivery.”
