The United Coalition Movement for Prince Otu & Odey (UCMPOO), a sociopolitical group, has constituted a 15-man State Working Executive to champion the re-election of Senator Prince Bassey Otu and his deputy, Rt. Hon. Peter Odey, in the 2027 governorship election in Cross River State.
The appointments were announced on Thursday, September 24, 2026, in an official statement personally signed by the Director-General of the group, Mr. Austin Ibok.
According to Ibok, the new executives, comprising state officers and zonal coordinators, are expected to provide strategic leadership and ensure a smooth victory for the Otu/Odey ticket in the forthcoming polls.
He said the selection followed extensive consultations with leaders and stakeholders across the state.
“Following extensive consultations across the State with leaders and stakeholders at various levels, and in line with our objectives, core values, and mandate, the following persons have been selected and appointed to serve as members of the State Executive of the United Coalition Movement for Prince Otu & Odey (UCMPOO),” he stated.
The State leadership is made up of 12 officers:
1. Mr. Gabriel Ijang – Deputy Director-General I
2. Mr. Edward Odu Ncha – Deputy Director-General II
3. Mr. Ikpeme Damon – Diaspora Coordinator
4. Mr. David Ekpenyong – Abuja Coordinator
5. Mr. Victor Omaga Odo – Secretary General
6. Hon. Sylvester Nsa – Head, Political Reconciliation & Integration of Old APC Members
7. Dr. Diana Mary Nsan – Head, Media & Publicity
8. Mr. Emeka Osbert – Head, Contact & Mobilization
9. Hon. Esther Illah – Head, Women Affairs
10. Mr. Ewa Malaysia – Director, Youth Affairs
11. Amb. Helen Inyang – Head, Policy Management & Execution
12. Hon. Leo Asuquo – Head, General Duties & Operations.
The three Zonal Coordinators are:
– Mr. Austin Akan – Northern Senatorial District
– Prince Takim Okongor – Central Senatorial District
– Hon. Effiom Effiwatt – Southern Senatorial District.
Ibok congratulated the newly appointed executives and charged them to see their appointments as a call to service.
He urged them to demonstrate commitment, sacrifice and collective responsibility towards achieving the Movement’s objectives of returning Governor Otu and Deputy Governor Odey for a second term in 2027.
