In the spirit of the cultural festivities, the Acting Chairman of Bekwarra Local Government Area, Hon. Egbung Odama Egbung has donated twelve cattle to the ten wards and royal fathers of Bekwarra.
The new yam celebration gifts were conveyed through the various councilors and ward relations officers to ensure that it gets to every segments of the community.
Hon. Egbung’s gesture is in fulfillment of his earlier commitment upon his assumption office as acting chairman, to withhold and promote the rich culture and traditions of Bekwarra through robust cultural activities.
He urged the various ward and community leaders to imbibe the spirit of the harvesting season which is rooted in kindness.
Adding that our forefathers lived in communal brotherhood, giving and sharing with one another. He called on all Bekwarra sons and daughters to share with the needy and to celebrate in love and should shun all forms of violence.
