The Supreme Court has dismissed the suit seeking to sack Senator Monday Okpebholo as the Governor of Edo State.
The court ruled that the appeal filed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Asue Ighodalo, lacked merit and failed to provide evidence of substantial non-compliance during the 2024 governorship election.
With this judgment, Okpebholo’s election as the duly elected governor under the All Progressives Congress (APC) stands affirmed.
Governor Okpebholo had defeated his closest rival, Asue Ighodalo in 2024 with 291,667 votes cast.
