The State Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Cross River State, Alphonsus Ogar Eba esq, JP has mourned the death of former President Muhammadu Buhari, describing it as a painful end of a “sanctimonious political cult-like followership”.
Former President Buhari according to a family release on Sunday, died at a clinic in London, UK at the age of 82. Sources said he died of blood cancer.
Eba, in a Facebook post said, “The enviable chapter of sanctimonious political cult like followership has just come to a painful end – what an odd world.
“May God be merciful to the soul of His Excellency, Late President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR.
“Rest in Peace Mr President.”
The late President Muhammadu Buhari died on Sunday, July 13, 2025 at a UK Clinic after battling with Lukemia.
Buhari served as Nigeria’s president from 2015 to 2023 and was also the country’s military head of state from 1983 to 1985.
During his presidency, Buhari implemented various policies aimed at tackling corruption and improving the country’s economy. He also oversaw significant infrastructure projects, including the construction of roads, railways, and bridges.
Buhari’s death has been met with an outpouring of tributes and condolences from Nigerians and world leaders alike. His legacy as a military leader and politician continues to shape Nigeria’s history.
