C’River Delegates Visit Minister of State for Industry to Strengthen Partnerships for MSME Development

The Cross River State delegation at the recently concluded AU MSME Week paid a courtesy visit to Senator John Owan Eno, Minister of State for Industry at the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment. This visit aimed to accelerate partnerships with various departments and agencies under the ministry.

Led by Mr. Great Ogban, Director General/Chief Executive Officer of the Cross River State Microfinance and Enterprise Development Agency (MEDA), the team included key members of the MEDA management staff. They discussed critical areas such as capacity building, funding opportunities, and projects designed to enhance the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise (MSME) sector in the state.

The Ministry oversees several key agencies, including the Bank of Industry (BOI), Industrial Training Fund (ITF), Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN), National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC), National Sugar Development Council (NSDC), and the African Regional Center for Engineering Design and Manufacturing (ARCEDEM). It also supervises the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON), Nigerian Export Processing Zones Authority (NEPZA), Oil and Gas Free Zones Authority (OGFZA), and the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) on industry-related matters.

During the meeting, the Minister @owan_enoh expressed his enthusiasm for providing support to the Agency and emphasized the government’s commitment to MSME development as a pathway to economic empowerment.
