A final-year Microbiology student, identified only as Blessing, has been found deceased days after she was reported missing. The tragic discovery was made after police reportedly found her decomposing body within the compound of her residence.
According to reports from Calabargist, Blessing was last seen on Sunday and was absent from a scheduled exam on Monday. A friend had initially raised an alarm, and messages allegedly sent from Blessing’s phone claimed she had been kidnapped and a ransom was being demanded.
However, suspicion was reportedly aroused when the friend who raised the alarm refused to let concerned students search Blessing’s residence. Acting on an anonymous tip, police conducted a search and found the body.
Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the circumstances of the student’s death. The incident has sent shockwaves through the university community.
