New Tax Law Will End Redundant and Overlapping Levies Affecting SMEs – C’River MEDA DG Ogban

The Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN), in partnership with the Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS) and the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms, recently hosted a high-level Tax Reforms Town Hall Meeting in Abuja. This pivotal event served as a bridge between policymakers and the public, focusing on the recently introduced tax laws and their ripple effects on the Nigerian economy.

The session was designed to demystify new fiscal policies, focusing on clarity on key provisions, economic impact, compliance and opportunity, and open dialogue

The event featured prominent figures leading Nigeria’s economic transition, including Zacch Adedeji, Executive Chairman of the NRS; Taiwo Oyedele, Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms; and Charles Odii: Director-General/CEO of SMEDAN.

The Director-General/Chief Executive Officer of the Cross River State Microfinance and Enterprise Development Agency (MEDA), Great Ogban, emphasized the importance of aligning regional development with national fiscal goals.

To ensure that the Renewed Hope agenda reaches every corner of the Federation, the organisers have confirmed that this Town Hall series will soon transition into a nationwide tour. The delegation will be visiting various regions across the country to engage with local business owners, entrepreneurs, and civil society groups.
