Bayo Onanuga, the special adviser to the president on information and strategy, says Femi Gbajabiamila, the chief of staff, will also travel to the UK alongside Vice-President Kashim Shettima to bring back the body of former President Muhammadu Buhari.
Buhari died today in London at about 4:30pm following a prolonged illness.
President Bola Tinubu has spoken with Aisha Buhari, the former president’s widow, and offered his condolences.
Buhari was twice elected Nigeria’s president in 2015 and 2019.
He also served as military head of state between January 1984 and August 1985.
President Tinubu has ordered flags at half-staff as a mark of respect for Buhari.
