You know we are usually forbidden from thinking in a manner that appears like you are questioning God. But matter-of-fact
, God is always available for questioning, which is why he left us with so many things that we do not know and he expects us to seek to know. Besides that, if we do not question God to know more, men will lie to us and tell us it is God that said so. They will package lies through the ages and call them the words of God. One of such is what I am ruminating on this Sunday morning.
Noah’s Ark…
Genesis 6:15
“Make the boat 450 feet long, 75 feet wide, and 45 feet high.” – New Living Translation
1. 45 feet high, is exactly the height of a three storey building.
2. 75 feet wide, is the width of a recreational basketball court.
3. 450 feet long, is exactly the length of 11 and a half, forty feet containers welded together in one line. Those long containers they use in Apapa wharf.
So Noah’s Ark was as small as a three storey building that is as wide as a basketball court and long as 11 and a half, forty feet containers.
And God commanded Noah thus: “And of every living thing of all flesh, two of every sort shalt thou bring into the ark, to keep them alive with thee; they shall be male and female.” – Genesis 6:19 KJV.
Apart from plants, a pair of every living thing that has flesh, entered the three storey, basketball court sized ark. Besides plants, there are an estimated 7.8 million animal species on Earth. And all the animals including the homo sapiens were created during the six days of creation in the Bible as there is no other record of creation by God after the six days. So I have a few questions.
~Male and female species of 7.8million animals with flesh is 15.6million animals. How did 15.6 million animals squeeze into a three storey basketball court sized boat?
~Let’s even assume that it was male and female of only one million species, how exactly could that have happened?
~How did Noah get some animals like the African Bush Elephant (Loxodonta africana), Black Rhino, Aardvark, African buffalo, Orangutan, Giraffe and many others which are indigenous to Africa alone, across the Atlantic to where the ark was?
~How did Noah get the Jaguar, the capybara, the macaw, from South America, into the ark?
~How did Noah get the panda, the Chinese alligator and the golden snub-nosed monkey, from China across to the ark?
~How did he get the Kangaroos and Koalas from Australia across to his ark?
~ How did he get the Penguins from the Antarctica?
~Did these animals swim or fly or were teleported as holograms or transmutated by divinity from where they are indigenous, across the endless bodies of water to where the ark was?
I am throwing these posers not as doubts on what you believe as the word of your God. Far from it. I am asking in the hope that someone who may read, who knows better than the little I know, can assist my curiosity and help me understand this phenomenon.
I have asked these questions and many times, the response is that we need spiritual eyes to understand spiritual things, and that is the lowest and most insensitive response. In actual sense, it is not an answer. It is an insult to the intelligence that God endowed us with. It serves no purpose other than posing more questions.
