As we march towards the 2027 elections, the insult on the South is becoming clearer. Sir Arthur Jarvis and his group have openly declared that the South is so poor and hungry that with a little money, our leaders and delegates can be bought like cheap goods in the market. What an embarrassment.
As they play this same script in the 2022–2023 governorship primaries, when Wike sponsored stooges from the South to divide us. Leaders we once respected, Amb. Nkoyo Toyo, Pst. Okpo Ene, Arthur Jarvis and others, were compromised. Only Senator Gershom Bassey and Hon. Daniel Asuquo stood firm and refused to be Wike’s puppets as they said. The rest sold their conscience for crumbs.
Today, they are shamelessly preparing to repeat that same betrayal as we go for party State congress. They boast that when money is thrown around, the South will bow, compromise, and sell its future. Is this what our land has been reduced to? That our own sons and daughters now mock us as hungry slaves to the highest bidder?
Let it be clear, the South is not for sale. Our pride and our heritage cannot be mortgaged to selfish politicians who trade loyalty for cash. To Amb. Nkoyo Toyo, after fighting so hard for “Back2South,” was your true mission only to block our chance on Wike’s payroll? The people will remember.
To Arthur Jarvis, and the rest in Wike’s camp, congratulations on your open betrayal. Enjoy it while it lasts. The South is watching, we will demand justice, and when the time comes, history will judge you.
