Victor Osimhen Addresses National Team Absence, Denies ‘Snubbing’ Nigeria

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has publicly refuted claims that he intentionally avoided national team duties, stating that recent accusations have “demoralised” him.

In an official statement to the public, Osimhen clarified that an injury was the reason for his absence from two recent matches.

Osimhen, who has been sidelined from his club due to the ailment, explained that while the injury was minor, continuing to play could have worsened it. “If there’s anyone who would snub the national duty, it’s certainly not me,” he said, expressing his deep love for his country and his commitment to always represent Nigeria.

The star forward’s statement comes amidst growing speculation and criticism from fans following his absence from crucial matches. Osimhen reiterated his dedication, asserting, “I will always represent my country both in life and in death.”
