In an article detailing his thoughts on the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Cross River State, party member Austine Ibok has urged fellow members not to fall for the tactics of some politicians. These politicians are reportedly offering money to members to persuade them to stay with the party.
Ibok advises that members should not be swayed by these monetary offers. He states that…read the full story below:
“It’s sad and shameful that some PDP leaders from the South and other parts of our state are going around trying to confuse our people. They are making empty promises, offering small money here and there, just to make people stay in PDP. But the truth is, they are doing it for their own selfish plans for 2027.
They want us to keep following Wike so he can use our support to make deals with Tinubu, just to remain relevant in politics. When they get what they want, they will share the benefits among themselves and leave the rest of us with crumbs.
Some of them want to contest elections, not because they want to win or help the people, but because they want to chop the money meant for campaigns. They will share that money with their political friends, and the rest of us will get nothing. This is how they keep using us and keeping us in poverty.
Life is all about choices. The bad choice made in 2023 is the reason Nigeria is suffering today. While many are struggling to survive, those same politicians are living large, driving big cars, sleeping in expensive hotels, and eating well. The people they used to win elections? They won’t even pick your calls anymore.
Now they are back, asking you to stay in PDP and support them again. But do they really care about you? Or are they just using you again to make money and gain power?
My advice to everyone who truly loves themselves: Don’t follow that group pretending to be PDP but secretly working with APC and Wike. Don’t be fooled again.
As the Bible says: “I have put before you life and death. Choose life, so you may live.”
Let’s make the right choice this time. Enough of the deception.”
