Hon. Oden Ewa has established himself as one of the top performers in the current administration, having consistently delivered high -quality results with precision.
As the Commissioner for Special Duties and Intergovernmental Relations in Cross River State, he has demonstrated the capacity to deliver on his duties with notable outcomes, but we’ll delve deeper into the scorecards at another time.
Beyond his official duties, the young and visionary Commissioner has selflessly launched several community intervention programs in the hinterlands, without blowing his own trumpets 🎺 or seeking to draw attention to himself.
His most recent initiatives include providing scholarships to hundreds of undergraduate and postgraduate scholars, water supply in rural areas, as well as carrying out medical outreaches in various communities.
These staggered interventions reflect an ongoing commitment to supporting the welfare of the most vulnerable and downtrodden.
The last 34 beneficiaries of this intervention in the rural communities received critical medical assistance that would have otherwise been financially out of reach for them. Many of the beneficiaries were in dire need of surgical procedures to address serious health conditions.
The 34 are part of the ongoing 1,500 vulnerable population offered health insurance across the six local government areas in Cross River’s Central Senatorial District.
This initiative, in partnership with the Cross River State Health Insurance Agency, has enabled beneficiaries to access free healthcare in primary, secondary and tertiary health facilities in the state.
The impact of these interventions is evident in some General Hospitals, where successful surgeries have been performed under the Cross River State Health Insurance Scheme, wholly undertaken by the Commissioner.
This timely and generous support has not only saved lives but has also alleviated immeasurable sufferings, offering a renewed sense of hope to these rural recipients, truly embodying the ‘People’s First’ agenda.
The fact that a commissioner has been able to effect such a profound impact in the lives of many, speaks volumes about his personality and character. It tells alot about his compassion and willingness to go above and beyond the call of duty.
His actions serve as a powerful reminder to the idea that a person’s impact is not defined by the size of their office, but by the largeness of their heart and vision.
