CCII Celebrates Former Minister Prof. Taoheed Adedoja on His 75th Birthday

I’mThe Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII), the umbrella body of Ibadan natives worldwide, has rolled out the drums to celebrate renowned educationist and political heavyweight, Professor Taoheed Adedoja, as he marks his 75th birthday today, May 27, 2026.

In a congratulatory statement signed by the CCII President-General, Chief Barr. Sulaiman Ajeniyi Ajewole (the Aare Atunluse of Ibadanland), the council described Professor Adedoja as an “embodiment of achievements” and a “precious, enviable son of Ibadanland.”

“CCII and Ibadan indigenes as a whole have the cause to celebrate Professor Taoheed Adedoja. He is an exemplary leader, a globally renowned educationist, an epitome of humility, a political heavyweight, and a complete gentleman,” Chief Ajewole stated.

Professor Adedoja’s diamond jubilee highlights a distinguished career spanning the academia, state governance and federal administration. Over the decades, he has held several high-profile positions, such as serving as the Minister for Sports and Special Duties.

In state administration, Professor Taoheed Adedoja served his home Oyo State as the Commissioner for Education and as the Chairman of the Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board (OYOSUBEB).

In the academic leadership, he is a former Provost of the Federal College of Education (Special), Oyo, and former Chairman of the Governing Council for the Federal College of Education, Obudu. Professor Taoheed Adedoja was the Flagbearer for the Action Congress (AC) in the Oyo State gubernatorial election in 2007.

Revering his contributions to his homeland, Chief Ajewole offered traditional Yoruba prayers for the celebrant, wishing him longevity, robust health, and continuous relevance in the affairs of Ibadanland and Nigeria at large.

“E o mo be ni, obe nii be isu, atelese a si bena wo. E o pe fun wa o”, he concluded.

The CCII, on behalf of all Ibadan indigenes globally, extended their warmest congratulations and wished Professor Adedoja many more fulfilling years ahead.
