I have watched with saddening duress the whole charade being peddled by a self-acclaimed actor of conscience, a charlatan who has now been crowned by the new wave of content-creation political critics, who build a following by posing as the conscience of society; people with no pedigree, background or moral compass to create their own little world of political drama, leveraging the internet’s quest for drama and blackmailing political figures whose interests are left to suffer in the court of public opinion.
It is a well-established and known trick, an enterprise of blackmail, backed by reliance on public sympathy and the exploitation of the media’s duty of public service. This is what we get when people turn to self-defence. Those who play the drama somewhat become believable, but lies, too, have their own end. Anyone can see through the facade: the commitment to play the victim, the outlandish lies, the deliberate employment of misinformation and the calculated attempt to profit from another man’s loss, all in an attempt to evade the real issues.
We are now being burgeoned by a class of social media trolls and hooligans, a replete manifestation of media blackmail. Politicians, too being human are now more than ever the first targets of these charlatans. But let us look at this scenery.
There is no doubt that the activities of the said MC OKRIKA have gone beyond what is socially acceptable. One would wonder why a fellow who is a preacher of certain values would not himself possess such values; a classic case of a man running away from his own shadows and setting the house on fire to hide the evidence of his crimes.
In the said event that led to this despicable social behaviour, MC OKRIKA, whom we can only see struggling to muster words after being granted an audience with the Senatorial Candidate of the APC, chose to convert the opportunity into another media brigandage.
While it is not uncommon for candidates to engage in both formal and informal meetings tailored towards understanding the people and canvassing support, one could sense that the charlatan had more tricks up his sleeves than any form of honesty he would care to admit.
A video now attached will show that MC OKRIKA was being asked what qualifies as corruption, following his series of scathing attacks on personalities in the APC. He was also questioned as to why his definition of corruption did not apply to the Thirteen Million Naira that Senatorial candidate, Honorable Oden Ewa donated to his water project, a donation he himself admitted to be true.
He sought to turn the corruption inquest into a content-creation act, of course, to evade the questions of corruption he was being confronted with and to make something good enough to feed his followers, who are beginning to see a champion in him rather than the blackmailer that he has become.
We have no words to describe such a level of debauchery and Oden Ewa has nothing to fear from his vituperations, malicious accusations and politically motivated attacks. We understand clearly what this is about, and we will not be cowed by the exuberance of a person whose stock-in-trade is to make something out of nothing.
We are not worried that his fabrications will be taken seriously, and we do not intend to give him the credibility of a reply. However, we owe the general public a duty of care to state clearly that the facts from which the said MC OKRIKA has developed his story are nothing but the hallucinations of a man under a visitation from heaven; the maliciousness of a clown; the postulations of a social conman; the desperation of a corrupt gentleman whose words are before the public to determine.
He poses no threat to either the Senatorial Hopeful or the cause he claims to be defending. His allegations are purely a figment of his own imagination and should be dismissed as such. His words hold no truth and do not represent who or what the Senatorial Hopeful is capable of and those who know his can attest.
His actions are condemnable in totality and right-thinking citizens are admonished to see through his acts and ignore the obvious malevolence of a chronic manipulator and ignorant charlatan.
