Governor Otu Felicitates Senator Musa Adede at 72, Extols Legacy of Courage, Enterprise

Cross River State Governor, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, has paid glowing tribute to former Senator Musa Adede on his 72 birthday, extolling his courage, entrepreneurial distinction and enduring contributions to public service.

Otu described Adede as a statesman whose journey from pioneering business ventures to the National Assembly reflects a life of conviction, resilience and patriotic commitment to Nigeria’s development.

In a goodwill message released by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity and Chief Press Secretary, Mr Linus Obogo, Governor Otu described Adede as an accomplished entrepreneur, courageous statesman and respected elder whose contributions to business, legislative development and public life have earned him an important place in the political history of Cross River State and Nigeria. He said the birthday offered an opportunity to celebrate not only another year of life, but a remarkable journey defined by conviction, experience and service to humanity.

“Senator Adede represents a generation of leaders whose lives remind us that true distinction is achieved not simply by the offices we occupy, but by the principles we uphold, the opportunities we create and the enduring footprints we leave in the lives of others,” the governor said. He added that Adede’s journey from private enterprise to the National Assembly demonstrated the value of vision, resilience and the courage to pursue opportunities in the service of broader national aspirations.

Otu particularly acknowledged Adede’s business accomplishments and legislative contributions, noting that his tenure in the Senate during the formative years of Nigeria’s Fourth Republic placed him among those who participated in shaping the country’s democratic institutions. He said Adede’s engagement with issues of national importance, including indigenous participation in the maritime sector, reflected an understanding of the relationship between sound legislation, economic empowerment and sustainable development.

The governor further observed that the experience of elder statesmen such as Adede remained invaluable to the political and developmental aspirations of Cross River State, especially at a time when the country needed leadership informed by wisdom, integrity and a profound sense of public responsibility. “Yours is a life enriched by experience, distinguished by courage and ennobled by service,” Otu said, expressing confidence that Adede’s wealth of experience would continue to inspire younger generations and contribute to conversations about the future of the state and the nation.

“As you mark another glorious chapter in your life’s journey, may the Almighty God crown your days with robust health, abiding peace, uncommon wisdom and renewed strength,” the governor prayed. He expressed the hope that the years ahead would bring Adede greater fulfilment and fresh opportunities to inspire others, serve humanity and contribute meaningfully to national progress.

On behalf of his family and the people of Cross River State, Governor Otu extended warm felicitations to the former senator, wishing him many more fruitful, peaceful and prosperous years. “May your years ahead be illuminated by grace, enriched by fulfilment and adorned with further opportunities to advance the common good.
