In a significant boost to the local education sector in the State, the Cross River State Commissioner for Information, Dr. Erasmus Ekpang, has completed a comprehensive renovation project at the Community Secondary School in Ogep Osokom.

The intervention, described as a landmark investment in the future of the Boki Local Government Area, included the complete structural refurbishment of a classroom block, the installation of new windows and doors and the provision of essential furniture, including chairs and lockers for students.

The project comes at a critical time when educational funding faces global pressures. Local stakeholders have praised Dr. Ekpang for his “commitment” to the public education system, noting that his actions go beyond mere administrative duty.

“Dr. Ekpang has demonstrated exceptional foresight and resolve by championing this investment in our school, students and educators,” an Indigene of Boki George Odok Jnr, stated.

Modernization of an existing classroom block to ensure a safe learning environment, installation of new doors and windows to secure school property, and donation of new chairs and lockers to improve student comfort and organization are some of the adjustments made.

For his “tireless efforts” in prioritizing the academic needs of his constituency, the Commissioner has received widespread commendation. Community leaders expressed hope that this gesture would serve as a catalyst for other public officials to place education at the center of their service agendas.

By addressing the immediate infrastructure needs of the Community Secondary School, Dr. Ekpang has not only improved the physical landscape of Ogep Osokom but has also provided a much-needed morale boost for the students and teachers of Boki LGA.
