Cross River State’s Special Adviser on Local Content, Ambassador Awatt Caleb, recently visited Chief (Dr.) Innocent Chukwuma, the founder of Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing (IVM), Nigeria’s first indigenous auto manufacturer, to explore a partnership rooted in Governor Bassey Otu’s “People First” agenda.
During their meeting, Ambassador Caleb thanked Chief Chukwuma for the warm welcome and reaffirmed the state’s resolve to channel local content into youth employment initiatives. Chief Chukwuma embraced the proposal, affirming IVM’s readiness to collaborate on local empowerment and job creation efforts.
Following the discussions, Chief Chukwuma instructed his team to initiate collaboration, with a focus on facilitating rubber exports — a vital input for IVM’s manufacturing needs. He also appointed Mr. Francis, IVM’s Quality Control Manager, to lead a delegation to Cross River State for exploratory site visits.
Ambassador Caleb projected that this partnership will unlock new opportunities for Cross River youths, foster collaboration between the state government and the Innoson Group, and catalyze economic growth and job creation across the region.Bottom of Form
