Honourable Oden Ewa, the Cross River State Commissioner for Special Duties and Intergovernmental Relations, will lay his father, Professor Ibiang Oden Ewa, to rest on August 9th, 2025.
According to a funeral statement released by the family, a night of tributes for the late university don will be held on Friday, August 8th, 2025, at the Ewo Family Compound, Okpakola Farm Road, Ugep, Yakurr LGA, Cross River State. The final interment is scheduled for Saturday, August 9th, 2025, followed by a Thanksgiving Service on Sunday, August 10th, 2025.
Professor Ibiang Oden Ewa, who passed away on 11th May, 2025 at the age of 65, was a distinguished lecturer at the University of Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. A scholar to the core, Prof. Ewa was a respected academic and mentor whose contributions left a lasting impact on his field and on generations of students who sat under his tutelage. He carried his title not just with pride, but with responsibility—always eager to pour knowledge into others and to lead with integrity.
He is survived by his wife Mrs Patricia Ibiang Ewa, children, siblings and other family members. May his gentle soul rest in peace.
