The newly appointed Commissioner representing Cross River State in the Federal Character Commission (FCC), Dr. Stella Odey Ekpo, has pledged to ensure equitable representation for the state’s indigenes in federal ministries, departments and agencies.

Dr. Odey Ekpo made the commitment during a courtesy visit to the Wife of the Governor, Her Excellency Bishop Eyoanwan Otu, at her office in Calabar. She was accompanied by her husband, Chief Victor Effiom Ekpo.
During the visit, Dr. Odey Ekpo expressed her gratitude to Governor Bassey Otu and his wife for the appointment, describing it as an honor. She reiterated her resolve to secure a fair share for Cross River State in the nation’s public service and to promote its overall growth and development.
In her remarks, Her Excellency Bishop Eyoanwan Otu congratulated Dr. Odey Ekpo on her appointment, describing it as well-deserved.
She praised the new Commissioner’s administrative and leadership skills, noting that the appointment reflects the confidence of the Prince Bassey Otu administration and the people of Cross River State in her ability to serve effectively.
