President Tinubu Receives Full Military Honours in Brazil

Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was welcomed with a full military honours ceremony at the Planalto Palace in Brasília today, underscoring the strong diplomatic ties between Nigeria and Brazil.

The ceremony, a traditional sign of interstate honors for visiting heads of state, was a grand affair. The Nigerian national anthem was played alongside Brazil’s, and the Nigerian flag was hoisted to fly proudly next to the Brazilian flag.

President Tinubu stood alongside his Brazilian counterpart, President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, as military officers in pristine ceremonial uniforms mounted a guard of honour.

Nigeria’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Bianca Ojukwu, who had received President Tinubu upon his arrival, also attended the event. The reception highlights the significance of the bilateral relationship and sets a respectful tone for the diplomatic engagements ahead.
