The South-South Development Commission (SSDC) has expanded its ongoing grassroots consultations in Edo State with a Meet-and-Greet involving the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Edo State Chapter, and youth representatives from the 18 Local Government Areas.
Facilitated by the SSDC Edo State Representative, Barr. Femi Oise Agge, the meeting provided an opportunity for young people to share their priorities and aspirations directly with the Commission.
Barr. Agge said the SSDC is committed to ensuring that its interventions are informed by the realities of the people, particularly in areas such as infrastructure, healthcare, education, skills development, employment and youth empowerment.
The engagement with the Youth Council follows consultations with traditional institutions and forms part of the Commission’s broader outreach to women, persons with disabilities, civil society, security institutions and other critical groups across the South-South Region.
Edo State NYCN Chairman, Comrade Moses Agwinede Joseph, commended the Commission for creating an early platform for young people to contribute to its development priorities and programmes.
