Tinubu has justified Cross River’s APC support for 2027 – Barr. Akiba

Ekpenyong Akiba, the Special Adviser to the Cross River State Governor, Senator Bassey Otu, on General Duties, says President Tinubu has justified Cross River State’s support for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Speaking during an interview in Calabar, Akiba listed projects being undertaken in the state as well as support for initiatives of the state governor, saying it shows President Tinubu’s concern for the state.

“President Tinubu has shown Cross River State love and is keeping to his campaign promises as far as Cross River is concerned.

“During campaigns, promises are made, but most of these promises are not kept over time, but the president has shown an exception to this.

“We are happy the president is giving our state enormous attention through federal government programmes.

“The president’s support for the Bakassi Deep Seaport Project, the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, the Calabar Port development, and several initiatives of the federal government which are ongoing in the state underscore the enormous attention we are getting.

“Most of these programmes are deep visions that will require time to come to fruition, and Cross River State cannot afford not to support the president.

“We have a problem in Nigeria where successive governments abandon projects initiated by their predecessors, so it’s important the administration continues beyond 2027 because the benefits of these projects are multifaceted and will be a game-changer for our economy,” he said.

He thanked Governor Otu for keying into the Renewed Hope Agenda of the president and also transforming the socioeconomic landscape of the state within the last two years.
