President Bola Tinubu has ordered a reversal of all recent management appointments at the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA). The decision effectively reinstates Salihu Abdullahi Dembos as the Director-General and Ayo Adewuyi as the Executive Director of News.
According to a statement from Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, President Tinubu’s directive allows Dembos to complete his three-year tenure, which began in October 2023. Similarly, Adewuyi will return to his role and serve until the end of his tenure in 2027.
The President’s order also nullifies the previously announced appointments for a new Director-General, an Executive Director of Marketing, and the Managing Director of NTA Enterprises. This move marks a significant shake-up in the leadership of the state-owned public broadcaster.
