In a major political move signaling regional solidarity, the stakeholders and leaders of the Akwa Ibom North-East (Uyo) Senatorial District have officially presented a communique of endorsement to Governor Umo Eno, backing his bid for a second term in office.

The formal presentation, led by Senator Effiong Bob, took place following a recent strategic gathering of the district’s critical stakeholders. The endorsement cited the Governor’s “superlative performance” across the thematic areas of the ARISE Agenda as the primary driver for their support.
Beyond the symbolic endorsement, the political landscape saw a significant commitment from local leadership. The Local Government Chairmen within the Senatorial District, led by State ALGON Chairman Dr. Uwemedimo Udo, have pledged to purchase the Governor’s nomination form, demonstrating their unified financial and political backing.
Senator Bob emphasized that while tradition allows governors two terms, this endorsement is rooted in Governor Eno’s “impactful leadership strides” and visible development across the state.
In a notable display of political bipartisanship and stability, the district also passed resolutions endorsing President Bola Tinubu for a second term and affirming support for Senate President Senator Godswill Akpabio.
High-ranking officials, including Ambassador Assam Assam, Senator Ita Enang, and Deputy Speaker Rt. Hon. Kufre Edidem, reaffirmed their confidence in the current administration during the ceremony.
Accepting the communique, Governor Umo Eno expressed deep gratitude for the overwhelming show of trust. He noted that the Uyo Senatorial District follows in the footsteps of the Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District, which had previously declared its support.
“I feel humbled and grateful for this show of love, trust, and approval of my continuity… Our people deserve nothing short of a government that promotes peace, development, and unity.”

The Governor reassured the delegation that his administration remains dedicated to an inclusive governance model, asserting that there is currently no local government area in Akwa Ibom State without an active government project.
The event was attended by high-profile figures, including the Coordinator of the Office of the First Lady, Lady Helen Eno-Obareki, and various members of the State Executive Council, marking a significant milestone in the state’s journey toward the next electoral cycle.
