As the build up to 2027 gets closer, political permutations and interest are getting tense with different analysis that suit their interests and not community interests. The saying in some quarters that Obudu can keep both the Senate and the House of Representatives seats are very myopic and self centered that amount to political suicide that can consume such mentality and the local government politically.
What happened in 1999 in OBO (Obudu/Bekwarra/Obanliku) federal constituency and the Senate seat for the Northern Senatorial District where Bekwarra Local Government Area had both the Senate and House of Representatives (Senator Kanu Agabi, SAN and Dr Mike Ogar) was a political mistake that can’t be allowed to happened again because of the sensitivity of the North.
We should rather work together as one big family and wait patiently for the next turn that the other position will naturally be zoned to Obudu by all political parties and interests groups. Obudu Local Government Area will prefer one and the bigger position if the party grant us such opportunity.
As politicians, the interests of our sister Local governments are very important and should be taken into consideration in our analysis. That way we can continue to enjoy ones and promote love and unity. Let love lead.
