Abuja, Nigeria – A long-held dream blossomed into reality in June, 2025, as Cross River State native and talented painter, Nelly Idagba, officially opened her exhibition house in Abuja. The grand opening was graced by a host of dignitaries, including Senator Bassey Otu, Governor of Cross River State (ably represented by his Deputy, H.E. Peter Odinga), Senator Jarigbe Agom (representing Cross River North Constituency), Senator James Manager, and Mr. Pieter Leenknegt, the representative from the Belgian Embassy.
Idagba’s exhibition showcased her unique artistic vision, captivating attendees with her heart-touching remarks during the unveiling.
Overwhelmed with gratitude, the artist shared her emotional journey, stating, “A dream I once only whispered to myself has finally come true — and I’m overwhelmed with gratitude and people who came for my What once felt distant and almost impossible is now my reality.”
Reflecting on the significant milestone, Idagba attributed her success to a combination of divine intervention and support. “I’m still taking it all in, but I know this moment is a result of grace, perseverance and the support of those who believed in me,” she expressed, acknowledging the profound impact of those who stood by her.
She extended heartfelt thanks to all who encouraged her and helped keep her artistic dream alive, specifically singling out the esteemed guests present. Her gratitude encompassed even those who were absent at the opening.
