Annual Tradition: Dr Inyang Asibong Celebrates New Year with Community people in Calabar South

In a grand display of community spirit and gratitude, Dr. Inyang Asibong, Special Adviser to the Governor of Cross River State on Gender mainstreaming hosted a New Year celebration at her residence, bringing together a diverse gathering of community members and leaders, cultural masquerade groups and political stakeholders.

The event was a testament to Dr. Asibong’s commitment to her community and her role as a bridge between the government and the people. As she marked the beginning of the new year with family, friends, and community members, Dr. Asibong expressed her heartfelt gratitude to God for another year of life and service.

In her message, Dr. Asibong thanked the First Family of Cross River State, led by His Excellency, Governor Prince Bassey Otu and his wife, Her Excellency, Bishop Eyoanwan Bassey Otu, for their leadership and trust in appointing her to serve the state. She commended the Governor’s administration for its remarkable achievements, particularly in road construction, healthcare, education, and agriculture, which have had a positive impact on all sectors of the economy. She also specifically highlighted the success of the Calabar Carnival, a flagship event that has put Cross River State on the global map, showcasing its rich cultural heritage and attracting tourists from far and wide.

Dr. Asibong urged community members and leaders to continue supporting the government and to rally behind the Governor’s re-election bid. Her message was warmly received by the gathering, who praised her for her dedication to the community.

As a token of appreciation for their presence, Dr. Asibong distributed food items, wrappers, chicken, and money to community members and cultural troops that attended the event. The gesture was met with joy and gratitude, with many thanking her for her thoughtfulness and generosity.
