In what rescue workers are calling nothing short of a miracle, a baby boy named Lord has survived a devastating tornado after being found alive and unharmed among the branches of a fallen tree.
The incident occurred on Saturday evening after a powerful tornado tore through the community, uprooting trees, destroying homes, and leaving a trail of destruction.
According to family members, the four-month-old baby was inside his family’s home when the storm struck with little warning. The force of the wind ripped the roof off the house and swept the infant from his crib.
For several minutes, the family frantically searched through the debris, fearing the worst, until a neighbor heard faint cries coming from outside.
The baby was discovered lodged safely in the branches of a large tree that had fallen just a few meters from the house. Despite being surrounded by broken limbs and scattered debris, the infant sustained only minor scratches.
“It is by the grace of God. The tree held him like it was protecting him,” a family member said, visibly shaken by the incident.
Emergency responders who arrived at the scene said the baby was alert and crying when he was found, a sound that brought relief to the entire neighborhood. He was immediately taken to a nearby hospital for a thorough medical check-up and has since been declared in stable condition.
Local authorities said the tornado damaged several homes and displaced dozens of residents, but no fatalities have been reported so far.
Residents have described the baby’s survival as a symbol of hope for the community as they begin the difficult task of rebuilding.
The family has named the rescue a second birthday for baby Lord.
