The Cross River State Returning Officer for the All Progressives Congress Primaries, Mr. Samuel Yaknab Yenab, has clarified that Hon. Oden Ewa was fully CLEARED and CERTIFIED to contest the Central Senatorial Primaries Election.
Speaking during the final and formal announcement of results for the House of Representatives, Senatorial, and House of Assembly Primaries, Mr. Yarnab said Hon. Ewa’s name was among those submitted to him by the APC National Party Chairman and the National Secretary of the Party.
He described rumors circulating that Hon. Ewa was not cleared as false and misleading, urging the people of Cross River Central to disregard such reports.
“All the rumors making the rounds that he was not cleared for the primaries elections are not only false but very misleading. Cross River Central should not believe such purported stories making the rounds,” the Returning Officer stated.
The clarification was made alongside the Cross River State Primary Election Committee from Abuja, who oversaw the conduct and collation of the exercise. Mr. Yarnab stressed that the process followed due party procedure and that only candidates duly CLEARED by the Party’s Screening Committee were listed for the elections.
With the public clarification, the party has affirmed that Hon. Oden Ewa is and remains the eligible candidate and flag bearer of the APC Senatorial Elections for the Central Senatorial District
The announcement has so far put to rest days of false and misleading speculation and political tension within the District over the status of the Aspirant’s Candidacy. Party Stakeholders present at the event welcomed the clarification, noting that it would help stabilize the party ahead of the general elections.
Congratulations have since poured in for Hon. Oden Ewa from supporters across Cross River Central and beyond, with many describing the development as a reaffirmation of his standing within the party and his readiness to represent the district at the Senate.
Meanwhile, the Cross River State Governor, His Excellency, Apostle Sen. [Prince] Bassey Edet Otu has in a landslide victory clinched the APC Gubernatorial Ticket as the Flag Bearer of the Party come 2027 having run the Primaries Election unopposed and scoring a whooping 116,038 vote count.
