This was the focus of a robust stakeholder engagement with women across the State, led by the Cross River State Representative on the SSDC Board, Hon. Larry Odey.

The meeting brought together an impressive array of women leaders, including entrepreneurs, state women officers, female political officeholders, business leaders, professionals, and other distinguished women drawn from various sectors of the economy.

Speaking at the engagement, Hon. Odey noted that at the SSDC, women are not seen merely as beneficiaries of development, but as indispensable partners in driving economic growth, strengthening communities, and shaping the future of the South-South region.

He explained that the engagement provided a valuable platform to listen to women, understand their priorities, and identify practical interventions that would support enterprise development, economic empowerment, and inclusive growth in the state.

Participants at the interactive session shared their experiences, challenges, and aspirations, while also proposing actionable solutions that could help unlock the full potential of women in business, politics, and public life.

Commending the initiative, the Commission lauded Hon. Odey for his proactive leadership and applauded all the distinguished women who participated and shared their valuable perspectives.

“The SSDC remains committed to inclusive development. When women thrive, families prosper, communities advance, and the entire South-South grows stronger,” the Commission stated.
