In recognition of the Super Falcons’ victory at the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has honored Coach Justine Madugu with a three-bedroom bungalow and a cash gift of N50 million. The gesture follows a similar move by Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, who gifted N10 million to seven players from his state who were part of the victorious team.
Coach Madugu, a native of the Numan Local Government Area of Adamawa, was given a hero’s welcome at the Government House in Yola. Governor Fintiri lauded Madugu’s patriotism, tactical brilliance, and leadership, which guided the Super Falcons to a record-extending 10th WAFCON title.
While presenting the awards, Governor Fintiri reiterated his administration’s commitment to sports development, citing ongoing projects to build modern sports infrastructure. He also urged Coach Madugu to help mentor young, aspiring athletes in the state.
An emotional Coach Madugu expressed his profound gratitude for the recognition, pledging to use his experience to leave a lasting legacy in Adamawa. He also called for increased support and investment in women’s sports across the country.
