The member representing Akpabuyo/Bakassi/Calabar South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Joseph Bassey, has sympathized with victims of fire incident that occurred on Sunday January 11 in Calabar South.
The fire incidents destroyed residential homes and shops at Goldie area in Calabar South.
Hon. Bassey, who is the Chairman, House Committee on Disaster Management and Emergency Preparedness, in a release, assured the victims that the committee will explore ways of ameliorating their losses by collaborating with the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and the Cross River State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) to come to their aid.
“On behalf of the good people of Akpabuyo/Bakassi/Calabar South Federal Constituency, I wish to expresses our deepest sympathies to all individuals and families affected by the recent fire outbreak.
“The tragic event has caused immeasurable loss of property, and personal belongings and has left many in a state of shock, grief, and uncertainty. Our hearts go out to everyone affected during this incredibly difficult time.
“We stand in unwavering solidarity with the victims and their loved ones. No one should face such devastation alone during this difficult time,” the release stated.
