NBA Calabar Branch Inaugurates 22nd Executive Council

The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Calabar Branch (The Doyen Bar), on Sunday 29th June 2025, formally inaugurated its 22nd Executive Council following the successful conduct of branch elections on Saturday, 28th June 2025.

The keenly contested but peaceful elections brought together members of the legal community in Calabar, who turned out in large numbers to elect a new leadership for the Branch. The following officers emerged victorious and have been sworn in to steer the affairs of the Branch:

1. Enome Amatey, Esq. – Chairman

2. Joseph Apajung, Esq. – Vice Chairman

3. Triumph Atteh, Esq. – General Secretary

4. Efembe Nta, Esq. – Treasurer

5. Monday Ebiala, Esq. – Publicity Secretary

6. Ansa Boco, Esq. – Social Secretary

The inauguration ceremony that held in Calabar, was a memorable event that ushered in a new chapter of leadership and service for the Branch.

In his acceptance speech, the newly sworn-in Chairman, Enome Amatey, Esq., expressed his appreciation to members of the Branch for their discipline, unity, and professionalism throughout the electoral process. He also extended warm commendation to the outgoing Executive Council for a smooth and successful transition.

Mr. Amatey reaffirmed his commitment to a proactive, inclusive, and people-focused leadership. He pledged to uphold the core values of the legal profession, including respect for the rule of law, increased accessibility to the public, advocacy on matters of public concern, and the restoration of public confidence in the legal system.

> “Our mission is clear — to build a Bar that works for everyone. We will remain accessible, uphold justice, and be strong voices for our communities,” he said.

The NBA Calabar Branch looks forward to a tenure marked by innovation, inclusion, and strengthened service to the legal profession and society at large.
