President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday administered the Oath of Office to eight newly appointed Federal Commissioners for the Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Commission, RMAFC and the National Population Commission, NPC.
The ceremony held at the State House, Abuja, saw two commissioners inaugurated for RMAFC and six for the NPC, as the administration moves to strengthen revenue oversight and preparations for the next national census.
Sworn in for the Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Commission are Hajiya Amina Ibrahim Gamawa – Bauchi State. A lawyer with an LL.B from the University of Jos and a postgraduate diploma in journalism from the London School of Journalism. She has worked at the National Assembly, CAC, NSITF and NYSC and was instrumental in establishing the National Blood Transfusion Service.
2. Abdullahi Mukhtar Muhammad from Kaduna State. He holds degrees in Law and International Affairs from Ahmadu Bello University, and an MA in Peace and Security Studies. He served as Executive Secretary of the Kaduna State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board and later as Chairman/CEO of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria from 2015 to 2020.
The six new NPC Federal Commissioners are Nasiru Mu’azu Magarya, Zamfara Former Speaker of the Zamfara State House of Assembly, 2019–2023. He chaired the state’s COVID-19 Task Force and worked in public health.
2. Kolawole Oladipupo Alabi, Ekiti – An IT and supply chain management consultant with 25+ years’ experience. He was until now Executive Commissioner, Corporate Services at the FCCPC. He holds degrees from the University of Maryland and the University of Buckingham.
3. Prof. Sadiq Isah Radda, Katsina – Professor of Sociology and Criminology at Bayero University, Kano. He previously served as Deputy Vice Chancellor, Bayero University and as a member of the Presidential Committee Against Corruption.
4. Suleiman Umar, Jigawa – A retired Deputy Comptroller General of Immigration. He holds a BA in Education from ABU and an MSc in Applied Psychology from BUK and served in intelligence, investigation and procurement roles before retiring in 2013.
5. Dr Isiaka Alada Yahaya, Kwara – A career NPC official who rose from Public Affairs Officer I in 1991 to Director of Public Affairs, 2021–2023. He holds a BSc from ABU and an M.A. and PhD in Political Science from the University of Ibadan.
6. Chiso Abdullahi Dattijo, Sokoto – Reappointed for a second term. He holds a BSc from Indiana State University and an MCRP from Rutgers University, USA. He served as Deputy Governor of Sokoto, 2006–2007 and as Commissioner in multiple ministries, including Works, Health, and Agriculture. He retired as a Deputy Director at the NPC in 1996.
President Tinubu urged the new commissioners to discharge their duties with patriotism, transparency and a commitment to national development.
