Kanu Agabi, Offiono interacts with Strategy Team for the Creation of Ogoja State

Yesterday, Hon. Godwin Offiono, Member representing Ogoja/Yala Federal Constituency and sponsor of the bill for the creation of Ogoja State, held a crucial strategy meeting with the core team championing the state creation agenda.

The meeting took place at the residence of the legal luminary and elder statesman, Chief Kanu Agabi SAN, who is also the leader of the team.

During the session, Hon. Offiono, briefed members on the progress made so far and the preparations underway for the upcoming Public Hearing organized by the Constitution Review Committee of the Green Chamber of the National Assembly.

To ensure the team is fully equipped for effective engagement and lobbying, the lawmaker presented all relevant documents to it. These materials will guide the team’s interactions with Stakeholders and strengthen their case for the creation of Ogoja State.

He commended the team for her unwavering commitment and efforts thus far. He expressed deep appreciation to Chief Kanu Agabi, SAN, for his involvement, describing him as a key pillar in the pursuit of this historic goal.

In a heartfelt charge, Hon. Offiono urged the Learned Silk to take the project personally and to deploy his wealth of knowledge and national influence to help push the vision into reality by lobbying whoever is within his reach.

“We are at a defining moment in our history. The creation of Ogoja State is not just a legislative process; it is a historic call. I respectfully urge you all, to see this as your personal legacy project, Hon. Offiono stated.

SAN Agabi in turn, appreciated the team for believing in the project and urged them to keep hope alive, adding that Ogoja state creation is long overdue and he is ready to move with the team to any length for its actualization.

The meeting ended with renewed commitment from all members to intensify consultations, advocacy and grassroots mobilization in the days ahead
